Utah won the second random draw of lottery balls to move up from the 14th pick to No. 4, adding to an already momentous summer that could feature a free agent spending spree with tons of salary cap space and an owner not afraid to spend money.

Utah Hockey Club announced today that it will select fourth overall in the 2025 NHL Draft after winning the second draw in this evening’s NHL Draft Lottery. Originally slotted with the 14th-best odds, lottery rules allow a team to move up 10 selections if they win the draft lottery.

After drafting third overall last year, the Utah Hockey Club (now called the Utah Mammoth) got extremely lucky and won the fourth pick on Monday. They did that by winning the second drawing and moving from 14th position to
