A middle school teacher in Norristown, Montgomery County, was arrested after information from a resource officer revealed a teacher's inappropriate contact with a student, District Attorney Kevin Steele announced Wednesday.

Norristown teacher John Richards, 57, of Newtown Square, is facing several charges after officials say he is accused of attempting to sexually assault a young student.

According to investigators, John Richards called the victim to his desk at the back of the classroom to show her a typed message on his phone.
