The Razer Handheld Dock Chroma will bring RGB lighting and plenty of ports to your Steam Deck for $79.99 on January 30, but you aren't getting HDMI 2.1.

RGB lighting, and expensive. But surprisingly only one of those applies to the Handheld Dock Chroma, a USB-C dock designed for the Steam Deck and similar PC-based handheld gaming gadgets. The 6-in-1 dock-slash-stand should work with any of them,

Razer has announced a new dock for mobile gaming devices: the Razer Handheld Dock Chroma. Described as a versatile hub that can transform mobile devices into gaming consoles for your TV, it features a six-in-one I/O design. Preorders are now open for the device ahead of its launch on January 30 at $80.

Seems like making a dock for handheld gaming PCs is now some rite of passage for accessory and hardware vendors, as even Razer have jumped in now with the aptly named Razer Handheld Dock Chroma.

The Handheld Dock Chroma can stow your handheld, passing 100W of power through its passthrough USB-C connection. Around the back you’ll find a full-size HDMI, three USB-A ports and an Ethernet port for hooking up peripherals like a mouse, keyboard and wireless headset.

Razer unveiled the Handheld Dock Chroma, a new device built for portable gaming devices like the Steam Deck. The dock allows players to connect their handheld of choice to an external monitor, as well as connect additional accessories through USB ports. It does not have a release date yet, but it will retail for $80.

Razer says its Handheld Dock Chroma is a “6-in-1” docking station that transforms phones, tablets, or handheld gaming devices “into powerful gaming consoles” with 100W power passthrough support for charging. It’s priced at $79.99 and will be available on January 30th, with preorders starting on January 7th.
