How to use Android's Instant Tethering feature You can forget using sketchy Wi-Fi networks with your Chromebook thanks to this handy Android feature.

Once connected, navigate to the Hotspot & Tethering menu in the Android System popup. Toggle the USB Tethering option to On. Now, your computer should acknowledge the new connection source.

In the "Hotspot & tethering" menu, you'll find the USB tethering option. With that setting turned on, you can share your Android smartphone's mobile broadband with a connected device via a USB cable.

If you use a Chromebook, we recommend using Instant Tethering to link to your Android phone reliably. Connect your phone and device via Bluetooth. Open the Hotspot & tethering menu.

If you’re using a computer that has Bluetooth functionality, you can connect your phone to your PC wirelessly using this option instead of the Enable USB Tether option discussed above.
