Shana was early innovator in eForms Content management company FileNet has bought Shana, a maker of electronic forms software, for $8.5 million in cash.

FileNet thinks it has the right offering in place for companies facing a broad range of compliance-related issues with the release of its records management module scheduled for the second quarter.

The deal with FileNet Corporation's distributor, Robert Barnett and Associates Pty Ltd, involves 10 FileNet Forms Manager Designers and 30,000 concurrent Desktop eForms licences.
