The Cowboys won't be letting Osa Odighizuwa hit free agency. Dallas is expected to apply the non-exclusive franchise tag to the defensive tackle ahead of Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET deadline.

The Cowboys reached an agreement on an extension with Osa Odighizuwa and the monumental moment sunk in when the DT signed his contract.

According to NFL Media, Odighizuwa and Dallas have agreed to terms on a four-year contract, keeping him in the fold ahead of free agency. He was No. 10 on PFT’s list of top 100 free agents for this offseason.

Sam Darnold is set to hit the open market. The Minnesota Vikings are not expected to use the franchise tag on the 27-year-old quarterback before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. deadline, according to ESPN, clearing Darnold to become one of this offseason’s most coveted free agents.

March 4 (UPI) -- The Minnesota Vikings are not expected to use the franchise tag on quarterback Sam Darnold. Sources told NFL Network, ESPN and NFL Insider Tony Pauline on Monday about the expected transaction, which could lead Darnold into free agency.

Veteran defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa signed a four-year contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys, the team announced Tuesday. A league source told UPI the pact is worth $80 million, including $52 million guaranteed.

Only two players were given the tag for 2025 before Tuesday’s deadline: Cincinnati receiver Tee Higgins and Kansas City guard Trey Smith.
