A bird flu outbreak has been detected in Spartanburg County. According to data from the CDC, a game bird flock tested positive for highly pathogenic avian influenza on December 31. Officials did not specify where the bird flock was located.

Update: Spartanburg police say Volianitis was located in Moore County, North Carolina by the North Carolina Highway Patrol. They say she was found safe after her vehicle ran out of gas. She is being reunited with her family.
