“He leads by example” says Joao Paulo Sampaio, youth co-ordinator at Palmeiras, “he is serious and extremely focused on his work.” It didn’t take long for first-team coach Abel Ferreira to agree, calling him a “man of character” after his debut for the club. Reis has ability, but it’s his temperament that continues to leave its mark.
