Peel Regional Police, sexual assault
The Peel Regional Police are investigating allegations of sexual assault made by a woman against eight former Ontario Hockey League players, the department confirmed to The Athletic on Wednesday.
Police are appealing for further victims to come forward after a 69-year-old Brampton religious leader was accused of sexual assault. Peel Regional Police claim the accused went to the victim’s residence on Monday to perform a religious ceremony where he allegedly sexually assaulted her.
Two Brampton men who are part of the same family have been charged in separate investigations - one involving sexual assault and another dealing with prostitution-related charges, police have confirmed.
The incident allegedly took place at a victim’s residence, where the suspect had attended to perform a religious ceremony.
