Ke Huy Quan has his first lead movie role as a former hitman-turned-realtor whose past creates new stress in his life in action comedy "Love Hurts."

Even though Ke Huy Quan did his own stunts in the action sci-fi film Everything Everywhere All At Once , which earned him an Academy Award, he was still shocked when he got the call to star in his latest action flick,

Directed by Jonathan Eusebio, with a screenplay written by Matthew Murray, Josh Stoddard and Luke Passmore, Love Hurts stars Quan as a former hit man named Marvin Gable, who’s launched a new career for himself as a successful realtor. But as any former hitman in any movie ever can tell you, the past never stays in the past.

Ahead of new movie Love Hurts, Ke Huy Quan told Dexerto there’s a “treat” for Goonies fans and whether he’d return in the reboot.

That line, uttered by irrepressible sidekick Short Round in 1984's "Indiana Jones at the Temple of Doom," has endured, even if it didn't end up being true. See, love never died for Ke Huy Quan, who portrayed Indy's precocious sidekick. One might even say the actor's famed Hollywood return could be considered a second chance romance.

Ke Huy Quan plays a happy-go-lucky real estate agent named Marvin Gable whose past life as a hitman comes back to haunt him in “Love Hurts.” The action-comedy goes hard on elaborately choreographed fight sequences and violent, bloody deaths. Anything from a boba straw to a cookie cutter is fair game in these gruesome showdowns.
