Powerball winning numbers for Jan. 1 drawing: Jackpot rises to $200 million
The Powerball jackpot increased once again when it remained unclaimed after Wednesday's drawing, but the New Year's first lotto pull still proved to be lucky for some. On Wednesday, the jackpot was worth an estimated $181 million, but rose to $200 million with a cash value of $90.7 million after no one won the jackpot.
Had the winner come forward, they would have had the option to take the annuity prize payable over 30 years or the cash option prize of $65.8 million.
