Scream 7 has found the actor to play the husband to Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has a husband, and it’s not Detective Mark Kincaid (Patrick Dempsey) of Scream 3, as has been speculated online. Set to play her spouse, Mark Evans, in Scream 7 is none other than Joel McHale, who’s currently in production on the film in Atlanta.

From the looks of it, Neve Campbell’s character has remarried and Patrick Dempsey’s Mark Kincaid is out of the picture.

The production of Scream 7 is now in full swing after a long hiatus due to the removal of the main character from Scream 6 - her actress Melissa Barrera criticized Israel on social media - and it will once again be Sidney Prescott (as always played by Neve Campbell) who will be in trouble.
