Microsoft is preparing to launch an AI-powered Copilot for Gaming soon that will guide Xbox players through games and act as an assistant to download and launch games. Copilot for Gaming, as Microsoft is branding it, will be available through the Xbox mobile app initially and is designed to work on a second screen as a companion or assistant.

Microsoft debuts a gaming-centric version of its Copilot AI assistant, which can guide players by analyzing their gameplay in real time.

While Microsoft eventually intends to have Copilot for Gaming available across all parts of the Xbox ecosystem, it's rolling out slowly for now. It will first launch as a part of the Xbox mobile app, and members of the Xbox Insider Program will be able to test Copilot for Gaming through the app, starting at some point in April 2025.

Microsoft has started sending out invites to a 50th anniversary and Copilot event at the company’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington. The April 4th event will take place on the day Microsoft marks 50 years since it was first founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen in 1975.
