ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — It's been an Old Town tradition for 26 years, and while many people think the Christmas tree is a display put up by the city of Albuquerque, it's actually not.

The official tree lighting is scheduled to happen Friday, Dec. 2 during the Old Town Holiday Stroll. KOB’s Steve Stucker and Albuquerque’s First Lady, Elizabeth Keller, are set to flip the switch.

An Albuquerque tradition lives on this year. The Christmas tree in Old Town is now lit for the season. The tree lighting ceremony happened Friday evening at Plaza Don Luis.
