Lighthouses have been fixtures along the SC coast for 2 centuries. Less than a dozen remain. Restoration is underway on the Hunting Island Lighthouse.

A number of homes on Daufuskie Island are imperiled by rising tides and extreme erosion. Some homeowners are electing to move their homes to higher ground.
