Since January, more than 3,100 flash flood warnings have been issued nationwide — the highest year-to-date total since tracking began for alerts in 1986.

A flash flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Tucson at 3:44 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22. This warning applies to Pima.

Starting Aug. 1, 2025, watch for the new Base Flash Flood Warnings. The alerts won't appear on phones, but will come through NOAA alerts and broadcasts. Officials said this new criterion is aimed at keeping the public more informed.
