Microsoft is giving Windows 10 a fresh coat of paint. But it’s not just getting a touch-up — Microsoft is doing all the fine details, getting under the switch plates and sanding the molding.

The new icons are from Shell32.dll and include items such as the hibernation icon and the floppy disk icon. The icons in Windows 10 build 20H2 are pixelated beauties from decades ago.
Some of the icons have remained pretty much unchanged since Windows 95 arrived over 25 years ago. There are images of floppy disk and CD drives, computer chips, hibernation mode, networking, and more.
Microsoft released new icons for its Office suite reflecting its move to the cloud in 2019, and it's been rolling out updated icons for Windows 10's core apps (such as Calendar and Mail) since then.
