Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath's choice to play a final reunion gig in Birmingham has been described as a "homecoming" that recognises the city's status in music culture. The music icons will headline a one-day festival at Villa Park on 5 July dubbed "the greatest heavy metal show ever".

Ozzy Osbourne will be joined by the likes of Metallica, Sleep Token, Sammy Hagar, Alice in Chains, Halestorm Lamb of God, and many, many more.

Black Sabbath have announced a mammoth farewell show at Villa Park, Birmingham, on July 5. Entitled Back To The Beginning: The Final Show, it will feature the original Sabbath line-up of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward playing together for the first time in 20 years.

The show will take place at Villa Park in Aston, Birmingham on July 5 and feature the last-ever live performances from The Prince Of Darkness and Black Sabbath’s original lineup: Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward.

A year ago, following numerous fits, starts, and cancellations, Ozzy Osbourne revealed he could no longer tour due to lingering health maladies, although he said he wanted to do one last show in his hometown of Birmingham, England, to end on a high note.

Scheduled for July 5 at Villa Park, the show will feature Osbourne playing a short solo set, followed by him joining Sabbath for what's described as his "final bow." There will also be performances by Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, Anthrax and Mastodon.
