With a year to go until the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, the importance of this summer’s Concacaf Gold Cup isn’t lost on the Canadian men’s national team.
It was six years ago when Niko Sigur last stepped into BC Place, where Canada will begin its 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup campaign Tuesday night. Born and raised in nearby Burnaby, British Columbia, Sigur was not in the stadium as a fan.
