SHASTA COUNTY, CA - According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a preliminary 2.1 magnitude quake struck close to Shingletown Saturday morning.

The epicenter of the 7.5-magnitude quake was in the Drake Passage, a body of water between the southernmost tip of South America and Antarctica.

SHELBY COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - The USGS is reporting a third earthquake, this one the strongest, in the past 24 hours in Deep East Texas. A magnitude 3.2 was recorded 3.5 miles west-southwest of Huxley and 43.5 miles east-northeast of Nacogdoches at 9:02 p.m. Thursday.

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - Today is the 14-year anniversary of the Mineral earthquake that rocked much of the East Coast. According to the USGS, the 5.8 magnitude quake occurred just east of our viewing area, creating thousands of aftershock reports.

SOUTHEAST Mo. (KFVS) - A magnitude 2.3 earthquake was recorded near Caruthersville on Friday morning, August 22. According to the USGS preliminary report, it was recorded around 8:33 a.m. about 1.4 miles east of Caruthersville and 17.5 miles northwest of Dyersburg, Tenn. The earthquake had a depth of about 4 kilometers.
