The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 marks the tournament's return after an eight-year hiatus and is set to take place in Pakistan, starting February 19th. As the host nation and defending champions, Pakistan will compete against seven of the world's best teams to retain their title.

The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy is the 9th edition of the tournament that started in 1998. Notably, the tournament which is set to go underway on February 19, marks a return after 2017. Pakistan beat India to win the 2017 event. Meanwhile, this year's tournament is set to be held in Pakistan and the UAE.

According to PTI, India's only representative in the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires, Nitin Menon, has opted out of officiating in the Champions Trophy in Pakistan this month due to personal reasons. Javagal Srinath is also not part of the referee panel.
