A Canadian entrepreneur arrested by ICE is speaking out after she got arrested while trying to enter the San Diego border to obtain a visa last Monday.

A number of tourists from European countries have been detained by ICE in recent weeks when attempting to enter the United States, their planned vacations instead turning into long stretches in detention. Experts say their arrests are an apparent escalation in enforcement action as President Donald Trump 's immigration crackdown rages on.

ICE may face further strain if the administration’s plans take effect. The Department of Homeland Security has said it will cost $26.9 billion to fully enforce the recently passed Laken Riley Act, which dramatically expands the ranks of those held in detention before deportation to include those accused of low-level crimes.
