Despite the political controversy, Kneecap has received support from some big names in the U.K. music industry like Massive Attack and Johnny Marr.

After music business figures sent a confidential letter asking for Kneecap to be removed from the Glastonbury lineup, Johnny Marr shared a statement in solidarity with the group.

In the caption, Kneecap wrote: “One element of the political policing intimidation attempt is over. We played a historic set at Glastonbury. Whole area closed an hour before due to crowds.
