A former Smyrna police officer is facing serious charges after she was accused of forging doctors' notes to help students skip school.
A Smryna patrol officer has been charged with nearly 20 counts of forging doctors' notes to use for student absences.
The charges come after the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Smyrna Police Department investigated the forgery of documents provided to Rutherford County Schools.
