Manchester City have signed Uzbekistan central defender Abdukodir Khusanov from Ligue 1 side Lens on a four-and-a-half-year deal, the Premier League club announced on Monday.

The Athletic reported that Khusanov attracted interest from Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, and they will disappointed to miss out on a coveted young centre-back. Manchester City have completed the signing of defender Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens. On January 10, The Athletic reported City had reached an agreement worth €40million (£33.7m; $40.8m) plus bonuses with the Ligue 1 club for the signing of Khusanov.
