Nearly two months after Minnesota lawmaker Rep. Melissa Hortman was assassinated, voters selected XP Lee as the DFL candidate in a special primary election held to fill her seat.

The special election on Sept. 16 will either restore the Minnesota House to a 67-67 tie or give Republicans a one-vote advantage.
