Mulligan’s Brick Bar, the iconic Allen Street bar that was devastated by a $2 million fire over the weekend, is coming down, Mayor Christopher Scanlon said today.

Flames broke out at the popular Mulligan’s Brick Bar on Allen Street in Buffalo early Sunday morning. As a result, Allen Street was closed as firefighters battled the flames.

The demolition of Mulligan’s Brick Bar in Buffalo’s Allentown was brought to a standstill by mechanical issues just a few hours after work began. Neighbors tell 7 News it’s a sign to keep it standing.

I’ve got kids and grandchildren because of the place, and a whole lot of people in Buffalo are the same way,” said Ben Kell, who sold his interest in the Brick Bar years ago.
