DALLAS, Ga. — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Peachtree City confirmed a high-end EF-1 tornado touched down in Paulding County Saturday night at 11:41 p.m. The tornado was on the ground for over 11 miles, sending trees and wires down onto roadways and into some houses along the path.
The tornado touched down in south central Paulding County, tracked near Dallas between Hiram and Dallas, and then lifted up just before it crossed into Cobb County. Nitz said the tornado was on the ground for 12 minutes. Its path was 11.65 miles long and 200 yards wide and reached wind speeds of 110 mph.
PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — Severe Weather Team 2 has confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down in Paulding County late Saturday night. The storm had maximum winds of 105 to 110 miles per hour. The tornado traveled for 11.64 miles and had a width of 200 yards, according to survey data.
The tornado, which brought winds of up to 110 mph and remained on the ground for nearly 12 miles, left many wondering why they did not receive an audible warning.
