Rob Holding to end Crystal Palace nightmare after Oliver Glasner rift as loan exit looms - Former Arsenal defender is closing in on Sheffield United move after Selhurst Park exile

Sheffield United have completed the signing of defender Rob Holding from Crystal Palace on loan until the end of the season. The Athletic previously reported that the 29-year-old defender was attracting interest from the Championship side.

Sheffield United were battling to sign a "first-class" international player on deadline day, but ultimately missed out.

Crystal Palace have confirmed that defender Rob Holding has moved to Sheffield United. Holding will spend the rest of the season on loan with the Championship side. The defender was dropped from the Palace first team by manager Oliver Glasner and made to train with the Under-21s after a heated row between the two earlier this season.
