The alternative music community is in mourning after a private jet hit a power line in foggy weather early Thursday and crashed into a San Diego neighborhood.

A small plane crashed into a San Diego neighborhood early Thursday morning, causing damage to homes and cars. The crash occurred in the residential community near Sculpin Street and Santo Road, close to the 15 Freeway.

On the ground, 100 military families were evacuated from their homes. At least 42 of those families will remain displaced for at least another week.
