A former Smyrna police officer is facing serious charges after she was accused of forging doctors' notes to help students skip school.

Thank you to all the citizen's tips and the numerous law enforcement agencies that assisted in the search and getting a murderer off of our streets,” Sheriff Michael Van Dyke said in the news release.
