The Las Vegas Raiders surprisingly released defensive tackle Christian Wilkins last week. It’s far from a cut-and-dry scenario though, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Las Vegas voided the $35.2 million of guaranteed money left on Wilkins’ contract last month.

Christian Wilkins was released on Thursday just a year after he signed a massive contract with the Las Vegas Raiders, and the star defensive tackle has already been linked to a notable AFC team.

The Raiders are releasing Christian Wilkins in the wake of a dispute over whether or not he should undergo surgery on his injured foot, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday.
