Gold coins amassed by collector Paul Narce of Castillonnès, France and hidden in a wall have fetched nearly $4 million at a recent auction at Beaussant Lefèvre in Paris.
A huge collection of historic gold coins, recovered from the wall of a house in France after their owner passed away, has been sold for millions of euros at auction.
The lot included a rare 'Una the Lion' £5 coin of Queen Victoria, which sold for £884,163, or $1.2m, making it the eighth British coin ever to sell for more than $1m at auction.
