Dozens of families in Dutchess County received letters from Hudson River Housing stating they'd be losing funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development at the end of March.

Artist Abi Spendlove has launched a competition to encourage more people to "connect" with the chalk stream. "The river's foundational to our town, it's the reason Luton exists," she said.
