Accenture has scrapped its global diversity and inclusion goals after an evaluation of the changing U.S. political landscape, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters on Friday.

The global IT services company — which employs about 799,000 staffers — will start to “sunset” its diversity policies, according to an internal memo.

As policies restricting race-conscious hiring and diversity programs gain traction, businesses reassess their commitments, often citing compliance concerns.

Accenture, which employs around 799,000 people around the world, joined Meta, McDonald’s and Target in ditching diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI) targets. This comes in response to the changing political climate since Trump's election.
