GREENVILLE, N.C. (WKRC) — Camping World was fined $250 a day for flying a giant American flag atop of 120-foot-tall flag pole.

The City Council passed a motion on Saturday to initiate a text amendment, allowing Camping World to fly their flag in Greenville. The company was being fined 250 dollars a day due to its nearly 15 times bigger size than allowable on non-residential property.

Per Fox Business , Camping World’s flag is allegedly 15 times the size allowed in this town, and its 130-foot flagpole is too large, as well. For more than a week, the company has racked up penalties amounting to roughly $1,150.

Mayor PJ Connelly says that during the city’s planning session today, city counsel voted unanimously to direct staff to develop an ordinance that would allow the flag to fly at Camping World. This is a developing story.
