Swarms of Dallas Mavericks fans gathered at American Airlines Center on Saturday — some for a casual gameday, and others to protest the recent trade of beloved point guard Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Ahead of what will be the first Mavericks home game without Luka Doncic since the blockbuster Sunday morning trade that sent him to the Lakers and Anthony Davis to Dallas, hundreds of fans planned a protest and gathered near PNC Plaza at American Airlines Center to speak out.

Dallas fans made their displeasure known Saturday afternoon, chanting “Bring Luka back” and calling for the firing of General Manager Nico Harrison.

The Dallas Mavericks returned home for the first time since trading Luka Doncic away to the Los Angeles Lakers and getting Anthony Davis back in return. They played host to the Houston Rockets on Saturday afternoon in front of an amped crowd as Davis made his debut.
