That’s according to AAA’s gas price tracker, which reported the state average cost per gallon is currently $2.96, up three cents from the week before and four cents higher than last month. In Atlanta, the average per gallon was $2.98.

Average gas prices in and around Grand Rapids are up by 9.9¢ since last week, according to fuel surveyors, GasBuddy — 3.5¢ above the national average.

In the Gem State, the lowest-priced station was $2.29 per gallon, whereas the most expensive station was $4.04 per gallon, a difference of $1.75 per gallon. The national average for a gallon of gas has dropped roughly six cents, with a new average price of $3.09 per gallon.

The price is 8 cents more than this time last month and 11 cents more than a year ago, according to the group.
