Army helicopters are continuing attempts to contain a brush fire at the Schofield Barracks Range Complex in Hawaii that has already burned about 570 acres since it began.

Nearly two years after a wind-whipped wildfire on the Hawaiian island of Maui destroyed whole neighborhoods in Lahiana, dump trunks began moving about 400,000 tons of debris to the final disposal site this week.

KAHIKINUI, Hawaii (Island News) – The third day of the Kahikinui brush fire remains at 93% containment and 330 acres as of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the County of Maui Department of Fire and Public Safety (MFD). The fire was contained to 93% as of 7 p.m. and Officials lifted evacuation orders as well due to the increased fire containment.

On Monday, at around 6 a.m., the Maui County Fire Department posted to Facebook that road closures along Highway 31 in the area of the Ka
