Pakistan accuses India of sponsoring terror after 26 hostages killed in train attack - Indian foreign ministry rejects ‘baseless allegations’

Following the hijacking of the Jaffar Express by the Balochistan Liberation Army, Pakistan’s foreign ministry spokesperson had accused India of ‘sponsoring terrorism’.

The Foreign Office (FO) on Thursday accused India of being behind the terrorist attacks in Pakistan. During his weekly briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan also confirmed that the rescue operation following the Jaffar Express attack had been successfully completed.

India on Friday dismissed Pakistan's terrorism allegations, stating the world knows the true "epicentre of global terrorism". This came after Islamabad accused India of backing terror but did not directly link it to the Balochistan train attack that killed 21.

Pakistan’s military accuses neighboring India of sponsoring militants in the restive southwestern Balochistan province, which saw an unprecedented attack this week by armed separatists.

India on Friday trashed Pakistan’s allegations of backing terrorism against that country following the Balochistan train attack and said Islamabad should look inwards before shifting the blame on others for its “failures”.

India has refuted Pakistan's claims regarding its involvement in the Jaffar Express attack, with MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stating that Pakistan should address its own issues rather than blame others for its failures.
