The Karen Read defense team mounted two efforts on Wednesday to have at least two charges — if not the whole case — against her tossed with less than one month to go before the Mansfield woman is scheduled to be retried for the murder of Boston cop John O’Keefe.

Karen Read’s ongoing legal battle against the murder charges she faces in the death of her Boston police officer boyfriend John O’Keefe will unfold in two different courthouses on Wednesday.

The Karen Read case will be the subject of two hearings in separate courthouses on Wednesday. First, Read will appeal a recent decision by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court at federal court in South Boston.
