Jake Wheatley, who has served as the city of Pittsburgh's chief of staff for the last three years, has resigned. Mayor Ed Gainey's office issued a press release on Saturday, saying his resignation took effect on Wednesday.

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh’s chief of staff has resigned from his position. The Gainey Administration announced on Saturday that Chief of Staff Jake Wheatley resigned on Wednesday. “Jake has made extremely important contributions to my administration and the people of Pittsburgh,” Mayor Ed Gainey said.

Sources have told KDKA-TV that Ragland, who has been serving as acting chief, will be named to the position full-time.
