DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Smoke from the wildfires burning in North Carolina and South Carolina turned the skies hazy in the Triangle with the faint smell of smoke in the air.

The Valdosta Fire Department is working to extinguish a house fire on Melrose Drive as of around noon Tuesday.

The North Carolina Forest Service reported over 200 wildfires across the state Monday. However, most are small and not threatening any structures.
