Former Fresno State quarterback Mikey Keene has transferred to Michigan and is eyeing the starting job in 2025 while Bryce Underwood is in development.

Michigan quarterback Alex Orji has entered the transfer portal and Jack Tuttle is out of eligibility. However, primary starter Davis Warren and backups Jayden Denegal and Jadyn Davis remain on the roster for now. The Wolverines play Alabama in the ReliaQuest Bowl in a rematch of the 2024 Rose Bowl on Dec. 31.

Michigan landed themselves another quarterback on Monday, this one in the form of former Fresno State passer Mikey Keene, according to ESPN's Jake Trotter. Keene, a junior, gives the Wolverines their second big name quarterback of this offseason.

Fresno State Bulldogs quarterback Mikey Keene has committed to transfer to the Michigan Wolverines, On3’s Hayes Fawcett has learned. Michigan will now be Keene’s third stop as a college quarterback, having previously played for the UCF Knights as well as Fresno State.

Keene started his collegiate career at UCF, throwing for 23 touchdowns and seven interceptions over 15 games from 2021 to '22. He has started 24 games at Fresno State since transferring before the 2023 season, throwing for 5,868 yards, 42 touchdowns and 21 interceptions the last two years combined.
