The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory at 6:10 p.m. on Sunday in effect until 8:15 p.m. for Pike County.

Officials have been criticised over the lack of warning ahead of the flash floods that killed at least 135 people.

One person was confirmed dead after rescuers could not find him in floodwaters in east Alabama Sunday morning, according to officials.
