Nissan slaps the Nismo treatment on everything from the Nissan Leaf to the Serena minivan, "even without any great performance boost." But Nissan is out to change that, or at least change perceptions.

Unlike the standard car, which runs on 16-inch wheels, The Nissan LEAF Nismo Concept has 18-inch rims with lower profile tyres for added grip. Nismo has left LEAF's electric drivetrain untouched.

This isn't quite the first Nissan EV that the Nismo team has worked on. It debuted the Leaf Nismo RC concept at the 2011 New York Auto Show. A second-gen model went into production in Japan in 2018.
