Ra’Shaad Samples is remaining in Eugene. Oregon’s running backs coach, who was hired last spring, interviewed for the same job with the Dallas Cowboys but turned down the opportunity, according to a source with knowledge of the matter.

Oregon Ducks running backs coach Ra’Shaad Samples is reportedly a target of interest for the Dallas Cowboys in the same position. Samples, only 30 years old, helped guide running back Jordan James to a career-best season in 2024 and is a recruiting asset.

Samples, who also was Lanning's assistant head coach in 2024 during his first season with Oregon, opted to stay put, rather than return to the NFL, where he worked as the Los Angeles Rams running backs coach in 2022. And after the news broke, Samples sent a quick message to Ducks fans on social media that will surely get them fired up.
