The family of the surviving victim of a deadly helicopter crash into Ririe Reservoir Thursday is sharing their story after he was released from the hospital Sunday. According to Instagram story posts by Texas-based social media influencer Jennifer Houghton,

First responders traveled to the site using snowmobiles and found two people inside the helicopter, authorities said. One was dead, and the other was taken to a hospital.

The CEO of a Utah company was killed after a helicopter crashed into an Idaho reservoir on Thursday. Bradford Brown of Alpine was killed following the crash into Ririe Reservoir, which is east of Idaho Falls. Another person in the helicopter was transported to the hospital, although their identity and condition has not been released.

According the FAA, the deadly crash involved a Bell 505 helicopter and took place at the Ririe Reservoir in Rexburgh, northeast of Idaho Falls.

BOISE, Idaho — One person died, and another was injured when a helicopter crashed onto the ice at Ririe Reservoir Thursday afternoon, approximately 25 miles east of Idaho Falls. It happened Thursday around 4:40 p.m. First responders located the crash site and found two occupants inside. One occupant was deceased at the scene and the other was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The reservoir has been closed as well as the area around the crash site.
