Roger Penske has addressed the concerns of rivals that Josef Newgarden’s Indy 500-winning car last year was illegal. Newgarden and Team Penske teammate Will Power were not permitted to start Fast 12 Qualifying on Sunday after failing a technical inspection, due to an illegal modification on a rear attenuator.
Team Penske fired team president Tim Cindric, managing director Ron Ruzewski and general manager Kyle Moyer after two Penske cars were deemed illegal ahead of the 2025 Indianapolis 500, Roger Penske announced Wednesday.
IndyCar is exploring the creation of an independent governing body absent of any Roger Penske employees in the wake of the Team Penske cheating scandal ahead of the Indianapolis 500.
