The company, the world’s largest corporate Bitcoin holder, issued the shares as part of a strategy to diversify its funding sources as it continues to buy the cryptocurrency.

The company announced in its last earnings report a plan to raise $42 billion to buy bitcoin in three years. It’s already spent nearly half of that.

U.S. stock market futures rose in early action Thursday, possibly setting up for a third day of gains with major indexes within touching distances of record highs. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures rose 66 points, or 0.2%, to 45070. S&P 500 futures gained 8 points, or 0.1%, to 6094. Nasdaq-100 futures increased 16 points, or 0.1%, to 21779.
